The Corporation of the City of North Bay is currently seeking applications for the position of Transit Spareboard Operator, involving Transit Bus Wash.
The successful incumbents will work under the direction of the Transit Supervisor. A Spareboard Operator is an ambassador for the City of North Bay, responsible for safe operation of the Transit Coach on designated routes and dynamic dispatching. Other duties include fare collection, transfers and daily circle checks. Working in the Transit Bus Wash, you will be responsible for cleaning, washing and shuttling of buses as well as minor bus maintenance and report completion. The successful incumbents must maintain a high level of customer service and possess the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the public in a positive manner.
Qualifications:
- Minimum grade 12 Education or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Ontario class "B" or "C" driver's license with a "Z" endorsement; must have a good driving record pertaining to these licenses.
- Must have twelve (12) months bus driving experience or equivalent experience including customer driving experience.
- Must possess a valid First Aid Certificate.
- Must be able to follow bus schedules.
- Must have the ability to work with limited supervision and follow instructions explicitly.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and general public in a positive and harmonious manner.
- Must be sensitive to special needs of passengers.
- Must be able to successfully complete the City of North Bay Bus Driver Training course and tests plus the Ambassador Training Program.
