SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ski Trainers & Course Conductors will deliver L1 courses on behalf of Mt Seymour and the CSIA /PSIC. Additionally, should you wish to assist us with providing ongoing professional development training sessions for our team based on the CSIA/PSIC guidelines and the goals of our instructor group, there are opportunities to join our training team too.
Reporting to the Snow School Manager, we are seeking CSIA/PSIC Level 3 or 4 instructors who either currently holds a course conductor / LPT designation with the CSIA/PSIC or is able to obtain one (i.e. is a L3 in CSIA/PSIC).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver L1 courses according to the CSIA / PSICs guidelines and philosophies
- Help the Snow School Manager and the leadership team design and facilitate the on-snow and supplementary off-snow training for the snow school.
- You will support the overall goals of the Snow School through training and provide on-snow support and quality assurance
- Help deliver pre-season and ongoing training to instructor staff.
- Lead and coach all staff members to follow their personal skiing goals and perform other related activities as required
WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:
- Prior experience working as a Snow School Trainer is considered an asset
- You must possess a minimum CSIA/PSIC Level 3 Certification (or international equivalent)
- Be a current CSIA/PSIC Course Conductor/LPT or be willing to attend these courses (assistance with this me be available from the snow school)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Seasonal position, November through to mid-April
- Hourly wage - dependent on qualifications and experience, starting at $26.70 per hour for a Level 3 instructor, $34.00 for a Level 4 instructor. Additional premiums for experience and other ski certifications
- Higher daily rate payable when conducting L1 courses.
