Certified (Red Seal) Automotive Technician – Granville & Avery Automotive (Vancouver, BC) About Us

Granville & Avery Automotive is a family-owned and operated independent repair shop in Vancouver’s Marpole neighbourhood (8865 Osler Street). We’re a small, tight-knit team focused on honest diagnostics, high-quality workmanship, and clear communication with customers. We service a wide range of vehicles — from domestic and import to European and growing EV/Tesla work We’re looking for a skilled Red Seal Automotive Service Technician to join us full-time.

Key Responsibilities

Perform accurate diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of makes and models (including light trucks, hybrids, and EVs) Complete work to a high standard of quality and safety, following manufacturer procedures and shop standards Use digital vehicle inspection tools (we use AutoLeap) and document findings clearly with photos/notes Communicate technical findings to Service Advisors in plain language so customers understand recommendations Maintain a clean, organized bay and follow shop safety protocols Mentor apprentices or less experienced techs when needed and contribute to a positive team environment Stay current with evolving vehicle technology and best practices Requirements Valid Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification (or equivalent interprovincial endorsement) Proven hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing modern vehicles Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, braking, suspension, and drivability systems Clean BC Class 5 driver’s licence (or better) Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced independent shop environment Professional attitude, reliability, and willingness to collaborate with a small team Experience with European vehicles, hybrids, or Tesla/EVs is a strong asset (but not required) What We Offer Competitive hourly wage based on experience and skill (discuss during interview) Family-owned shop culture — no big corporate bureaucracy Opportunity to work on a diverse mix of vehicles with modern diagnostic tools Room to grow as we professionalize and expand the business Stable full-time hours, Monday to Friday in a well-established local shop
