ADHD assessments require a minimum of two (2) separate appointments. Each appointment is 30 - 60 minutes in duration. The assessment cannot be completed in a single session. If all appointments are not completed, the assessment will be considered incomplete and an outcome cannot be provided. Completion of the assessment does not guarantee an ADHD diagnosis. You will be required to sign a consent form.
Please be aware that the doctors conducting the ADHD assessments need to be able to make their own diagnosis of ADHD and can not accept a psychologist’s diagnosis alone. The psychologist’s assessment is useful and taken into account when making a diagnosis but can not substitute the doctor’s own diagnostic process for diagnosing a complex mental health condition such as ADHD with the associated risks of prescribing medication for this condition.
