About the role
Job Summary Perform processing, cleaning, portioning and packaging of fish and seafood products in a production facility. Maintain food safety, quality standards and efficient teamwork while meeting production requirements. Number of Positions 1 Main Duties Sort, grade and inspect incoming and processed fish and seafood by size, quality and specification. Clean and prepare product using knives and cutting tools, including gutting, filleting, trimming and portioning. Operate and monitor processing and packaging equipment such as conveyors, graders and sealers according to procedures. Pack, weigh, label and seal finished products for storage or shipment while ensuring correct counts and presentation. Perform sanitation tasks including cleaning workstations and equipment and following hygiene protocols. Record production data, report defective or non-conforming product, and collaborate with team to meet daily targets. Requirements Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in fish, seafood or general food processing environments is an asset. Physical ability to perform repetitive manual tasks, stand for extended periods and lift and carry moderate loads. Knowledge of or willingness to learn food safety, sanitation and HACCP procedures. Comfort working in cold, wet environments and using appropriate protective clothing and equipment. Basic numeracy and communication skills with the ability to follow oral and written instructions and complete simple records. Required Skills Safe knife handling and manual dexterity for cutting and portioning tasks. Attention to detail for quality control and product inspection. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Teamwork and clear communication with supervisors and co-workers. Familiarity with basic food processing equipment and the ability to learn machine operation. Time management and organizational skills to meet production schedules and targets.
