About the role
Job Description What is the opportunity? The Product Analyst Programmer will serve as a technical specialist within the Actuarial Support team, combining extensive programming expertise with actuarial domain knowledge to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-level systems that support RBC’s actuarial operations and product development/management. What will you do? Strategic Development & Engineering Design and architect robust, enterprise-grade software solutions for actuarial support and reporting systems Maintain, enhance and modernize existing actuarial applications and infrastructure Write scalable, well-documented code adhering to enterprise standards and best practices Technical Analysis & Strategic Problem-Solving Analyze complex, multi-faceted actuarial requirements and translate them into comprehensive technical specifications Lead troubleshooting of production issues and implement strategic, long-term resolutions Conduct system performance optimization and identify opportunities for technical innovation Serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with senior actuaries and business leaders on strategic initiatives Integration, Automation & Innovation Design and implement integrations strategies between actuarial systems and enterprise RBC platforms Automate high-impact manual actuarial processes to drive efficiency and risk reduction Develop scalable application programming interfaces enabling seamless cross-functional collaboration Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their application to actuarial operations Quality Assurance, Governance & Documentation Lead code reviews and establish technical standards across the team Document technical architecture, processes and solutions at enterprise level Implement comprehensive testing strategies and quality assurance frameworks Ensure compliance with RBC governance, security, and regulatory requirements What do you need to succeed? Must-have Extensive programming expertise in multiple languages (e.g. Python, C#, Java, SQL, ProductXpress) Advanced experience with data analysis and statistical tools Demonstrated experience in software development environments Track record of leading technical initiatives or managing complex projects Working knowledge of products offered by insurance companies including Life, Health and Wealth.
