Position Responsibilities
The School of Trades and Technology is seeking a Full-Time Probationary Continuous Instructor to teach primarily organic chemistry I and II and biochemistry I, plus some general chemistry I and II in the Bachelor of Science Biological Sciences degree and University Sciences diploma programs. The successful candidate will be expected to take a leadership role as we expand our course and program offerings in the sciences.
Responsibilities of Full-Time Faculty at the School of Trades and Technology include (but are not limited to):
- Delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes · Supporting the success of students with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and learning styles
- Assessing student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards
- Inspiring students by exhibiting enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and subject material
- Contributing to course and program curriculum development and renewal
- Engaging in scholarly activity within the domains of Ernest Boyer’s model: scholarship of discovery, application, integration, and teaching
- Working collegially within department, School, or Institution committees and project teams

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Biochemistry or related field
or
- Master’s degree in Chemistry with graduate-level coursework or experience in biochemistry and organic chemistry
Note that alternate combinations of related education, certification, and work experience will be considered
Preferred Qualifications

PhD in Biochemistry or related field

Post-secondary teaching experience in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and general chemistry at the undergraduate level
