Production Control Coordinator

Reports To: Production Planning and Health & Safety Manager

Position Summary

The Production Control Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to support efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery. This role works closely with production, purchasing, inventory, shipping, and customer service teams to ensure material availability, accurate workflow management, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
• Coordinate the flow of materials and work orders throughout production.
• Monitor production progress and communicate delays, shortages, or scheduling changes to relevant departments.
• Enter, release, update, and close work orders within the ERP/MRP system accurately and on time.
• Maintain accurate production, inventory, and scheduling records.
• Generate and analyze production reports related to output, efficiency, downtime, and order status.
• Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure materials are available for production.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Assist with resolving production and scheduling issues as required.
• Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Provide backup support within Production Control and assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing coordination, or supply chain operations.
• Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read production drawings and work with detailed production information is an asset.

Working Conditions
