Work environment
The positions are located in federal correctional institutions. Tradespersons employed in these areas are responsible to support the maintenance of the institutions and may directly supervise and train inmates.

Operational Requirements
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTSWillingness and ability to travel to various locations.Willingness to work within correctional facilities.Willingness to work with/or instruct inmates where applicable.Willingness to work overtime, holidays, shift-work for a 24/7 institutional establishment.Willingness and ability to perform testing and work on backflow prevention devices, as well to obtain a backflow prevention tester certification if not already certified.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATIONPossession of a valid Journeyperson Plumber Certification (Provincial or Interprovincial).
EXPERIENCEExperience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewage, plumbing and various piping systems and lines in a manufacturing, industrial or institutional environment.Experience interpreting and ing safety precautions and practices associated with plumbing work.

KNOWLEDGEKnowledge of workplace health and safety.
ABILITIESAbility to use and provide instruction on the use of plumbing equipment and tools.Ability to communicate effectively in writing.Ability to communicate effectively orally.
