Role Description The Taekwondo Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality martial arts classes to children and youth in an engaging, safe, and supportive environment. This full-time, on-site role is based in Richmond Hill, ON, and includes planning and leading Taekwondo classes, assisting with kickboxing-based fitness sessions, and preparing students for belt tests and competitions. The instructor will demonstrate techniques, correct form, and promote discipline, respect, and confidence among students. Day-to-day responsibilities include class preparation, monitoring student progress, maintaining a clean and organized training area, and communicating regularly with parents and guardians about student development. The role may also involve supporting after-school programs, camps, and special events, as well as collaborating with other staff to uphold OMAC’s standards of safety and professionalism. Qualifications Strong martial arts skills in Taekwondo, with experience in Kickboxing or related striking arts. Proven experience in Coaching and Training individuals or groups, preferably children and youth. Effective Communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and interacting with parents or guardians. Recognized Taekwondo rank/certification (e.g., black belt or equivalent) and relevant instructor or coaching certifications are highly preferred. Ability to maintain a safe training environment, including basic first aid awareness and adherence to safety protocols. Demonstrated patience, professionalism, and the ability to manage diverse groups in a positive and inclusive manner. Availability to work evenings and weekends as required for classes, events, and testing. Previous experience in youth programs, sports instruction, or education is an asset.
