Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting three (3) full-time (1.0 FTE) Senior High Online teachers to be located out of Sherwood Park & Vegreville. The assignment involves teaching asynchronously via Brightspace. Must have technical proficiency to have materials accessible 24/7. The teaching assignments includes Science 10/20/30, Bio 20/30, Chem 20/30, Physics 20/30, Math 10C, ELA 10-1,20-1/2, 30-1/2, Social 10-1,20-1/2, 30-1/2, & several complementary courses (CTS & LDC’s). The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Learning Management Systems like Brightspace and Google Classroom, and skilled at building strong, supportive relationships with at-risk youth. A passion for personalized education and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, student-focused environment are essential. Successful candidates must have experience with multiple grade levels, and cross curricular learning, including Diploma course assessment. Successful staff will be

required to work late 2 nights a week to accommodate online learners.

Next Step Sherwood

Park provides flexible outreach programming for grades 8 to 12 students with 11

teaching staff and three support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park,

AB.

Next Step Vegreville

provides flexible outreach programming for grades 8 to 12 students with one teaching

staff and one support staff. The school is located in Vegreville, AB,

approximately 90 kilometres east of Sherwood Park, AB.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education degree

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

• Effective organization and classroom management skills

• Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
