About the Role
Centex Petroleum is seeking a motivated and hands-on Gas Station Maintenance Coordinator to support the maintenance, repair, and operational reliability of our network of retail fuel facilities across Ontario. This position combines maintenance coordination with field support. The successful candidate will coordinate maintenance activities, work closely with contractors and vendors, monitor work quality, and perform minor repairs and inspections as required. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and being on-site rather than behind a desk.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Coordination (Primary Responsibilities)
Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities for assigned retail fuel locations. Support the Maintenance Manager with small-scale renovations, capital improvements, and maintenance projects. Manage maintenance requests through the Company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring work orders are prioritized, assigned, and completed in a timely manner. Evaluate maintenance issues and determine whether repairs should be completed internally or by external contractors. Coordinate contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to company standards. Develop and maintain relationships with qualified trades and vendors throughout Ontario. Obtain quotations and assist with sourcing materials, equipment, and services. Conduct site inspections before, during, and after maintenance or construction activities to verify quality and compliance. Support insurance-related site repairs by coordinating inspections, quotations, and contractor activities. Monitor the overall condition of facilities, fuel equipment, buildings, and site grounds. Communicate maintenance status, project updates, and site conditions with internal stakeholders. Participate in a rotating after-hours and weekend on-call schedule. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable Occupational Health & Safety legislation and company safety policies.
Field Maintenance & Site Support (Secondary Responsibilities)
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance visits across assigned locations.
Complete minor repairs where practical, including
Basic petroleum equipment maintenance (hoses, nozzles, filters, minor fuel system repairs) General building maintenance Basic plumbing, carpentry, lighting, doors, hardware, and fixture repairs Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to maintain safe, reliable, and professional-looking facilities. Assist with emergency maintenance and service calls as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Minimum three (3) years of experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, or a field service technician role. Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record. Strong mechanical aptitude and general building maintenance skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently. Ability to read and interpret operating manuals, technical drawings, safety procedures, and maintenance documentation. Working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn CMMS software.
Preferred
Experience maintaining retail petroleum facilities or fuel dispensing equipment. Maintenance coordination or project coordination experience. Trade certification (Carpentry, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Millwright, or equivalent). Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary of $80,000, paid semi-monthly. Company vehicle provided. Company laptop and mobile phone. Fuel, mileage, and approved business expenses reimbursed in accordance with company policy. Extended health, dental, life, and disability benefits (50% employee cost-sharing). Three (3) weeks of paid vacation annually. Six (6) paid personal/sick days per year.
Additional Information
This is a full-time salaried position. Employment is subject to a three (3) month probationary period. The successful candidate must maintain the confidentiality of all company information during and after employment. Occasional overnight travel may be required depending on project or operational needs.
