As an Industrial Custodian, you will perform all duties related to the upkeep and maintenance of a tour-ready, state-of-the-art industrial manufacturing organization that builds equipment dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry.

Location: 1556 Industrial Road, Cambridge, ON

Dedicated Day Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday

Job Duties

• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners and floor-sweeping/scrubbing machines to remove dirt, scraps, coolant, oil and heavy debris from office and shop floor areas
• Collect waste and recycling from the shop floor, offices, lunchrooms, washrooms, etc. and dispose in appropriate outdoor bins/compactors
• Dispose of recycled cardboard in the compactor and bale cardboard as required
• Mop, clean and sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms, and the kitchenettes, including high-touchpoints in the facility, such as doorknobs, light switches, etc
• Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings
• Outdoor/yard cleanup
• Distribute paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in washrooms
• Maintain an inventory of sanitary and janitorial supplies

Skills and Experience

• Adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes or unexpected events
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete daily cleaning tasks
• Physical requirements include the use of strength such as pulling, pushing, lifting and/or moving objects during the work, as well as standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending
• Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outside
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills required

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning within manufacturing environments (shopfloor and office)
• Knowledge of safe chemical and solvent handling practices
• Must possess experience operating a forklift or willing to learn
• Experience operating a floor sweeper, or willing to learn
• Previous custodial experience in a shop environment is an asset!
