Responsibilities
Tasks
Coach and instruct apprentices
Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions Construct foundations for machinery Repair or replace defective machinery parts Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up Perform routine maintenance work on machinery Operate machining tools to fabricate parts Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) Installing machinery and equipment Operate hoisting and lifting equipment Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
