What You’ll Do
As a Data Business Analyst, you'll be responsible for eliciting requirements and shaping solutions to business problems across the full reporting lifecycle — from requirements gathering through to delivery of reports and dashboards. You'll work within an Agile framework, acting as the conduit between the business, and our Data Engineers and Visualization Analysts.
Key Responsibilities
Gather and define detailed project requirements from across the Canadian business for data reporting products Own the end-to-end reporting lifecycle, from requirements gathering, to solution design, build support, user acceptance testing, and deployment Run workshops, interviews, and prototyping sessions to capture and refine requirements — including situations where requirements are unclear or priorities are shifting Define and document data mappings, and end-to-end data flows Support data governance, data quality, and master data management initiatives Produce Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria Partner with Data Visualization Analysts to support the delivery of Power BI and self-service analytics solutions, ensuring outputs are intuitive, well-documented and accessible to business users Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, concise, and verifiable — and traceable back to a genuine business need. Provide input into new products and feature designs so that reporting and analytics needs are considered from the outset, not bolted on afterward Manage scope changes and requirements during implementation Partner with the Product Owner to refine and size the backlog Maintain oversight of delivery, including scope, timelines, dependencies and expected outcomes Proactively identify risks, blockers and potential delays, driving mitigation and escalation where required Define acceptance criteria (Definition of Ready / Definition of Done) and support test planning and UAT
What We’re Looking For
3-5 years' experience as a Business Analyst, ideally on data or reporting products. Demonstrated experience across the full reporting lifecycle (requirements through deployment) Hands-on experience with data ingestion — ETL pipelines, source-to-target mapping, or similar — and comfort writing clear technical tickets for engineers Ability to understand database schemas, including the relationships between objects and key terminology Experience gathering requirements from diverse, sometimes non-technical stakeholders, including in situations with unclear requirements or changing priorities Data profiling experience, including querying and profiling data using SQL Exposure to a cloud data platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Experience working within an Agile delivery methodology Excellent communication skills — confident liaising with stakeholders at all levels, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences Sound analytical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously, while collaborating closely with the other Data Business Analysts

Experience in a retail environment.
Technical data skills: Power BI or other visualization tools
