About the role
The Disaster Restoration Specialist is responsible for the remediation of property and contents affected by fire, water, mould and asbestos.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Follow all Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Follow all Company Policies and Procedures
- All Specialists should have a thorough understanding of all areas of Restoration (Contents, Emergency Demolition and Environmental) and become a subject matter expert in all areas.
- Extract water from flooded properties
- Perform controlled demolition of wet building materials (drywall, carpet, ceilings, and cabinets).
- Clean & Sanitize structures affected by Fire, Water and any hazardous materials.
- Set up and assess equipment
- This may include the use of specialty equipment such as inject-a-dry- system, Dessicant dehumidifiers and air scrubbers
- On site cleaning and content manipulation.
- List, assess and pack out of affected content for onsite storage or processing at our shop.
- Processing and assessment of content.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement activities/ training.
This job is physically demanding. Disaster Restoration Specialists are required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, and do repetitive tasks. They are also required to Wear Personal Protective Equipment such as hard hats, half face and PAPR full face respirators.
Candidates must be able to understand, follow, and communicate work-related instructions and safety information relevant to the position.This includes the ability to:
- Understand job instructions and safety procedures
- Communicate hazards, concerns, or questions to supervisors and team members
- Participate in training and demonstrate understanding of safe work practices
- Must have valid Manitoba Drivers Licence
