Kal Tire is seeking Tire Retread Technicians to join our team at our re-manufacturing facility in Sparwood, BC. in a full-time overnight role offering a consistent 7 days on, 7days off schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Compensation is provided in accordance with the collective agreement and includes a base rate of $28.35/hour, plus a $2.00/hour overnight premium, and a guaranteed monthly bonus of $500. What to Expect in This Role: To help you decide if this hands-on, full time, permanent role, in a unionized environment is the right fit, here’s what a typical day looks like: * You’ll work in a manufacturing environment that can be warm, noisy, and fast-paced. * You’ll be on your feet most of the day, using hand tools and machines to inspect, buff, and prepare tires for retreading. * The work is repetitive but methodical, requiring patience and a strong attention to detail. * You’ll wear protective gear (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots) and follow strict safety procedures. * You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to meet daily production goals. Training & Onboarding: We know the first few months are crucial, that’s why we provide: * Paid training, covering retread operations. * Skill progression, you’ll start with tire inspection and preparation before advancing to full retreading. * Clear expectations and feedback at each stage of your training.
