Performs labour and operates light equipment to maintain municipal roads, rights-of-way, facilities, properties, and equipment throughout the year. Patrols roads during winter and severe weather, reports maintenance needs, supports traffic control and data collection, and follows safety requirements.

Conduct building, site, and storage tank inspections to enforce fire safety codes and applicable legislation, document deficiencies, and follow up on corrective actions and compliance orders. Review plans and compliance submissions, investigate complaints and unsafe conditions, provide fire code guidance, maintain records, and support the Fire Marshal and other department operations.
