SUMMARY OF THE ROLE Mammoet is looking for task-oriented and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in the Edmonton region. Working within an experienced team of engineers and technologists, the Junior Engineer provides technical direction to Mammoet projects through the preparation of critical lift, heavy transport and jack & slide execution drawings, calculations and procedures in accordance with Mammoet and client policies. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Responsibilities will vary depending on the department but may include: Using your expertise to develop best-in-class engineering solutions for heavy lifting and transportation projects Working with both conventional methodologies and developing new approaches Developing drawings using AutoCad along with in-house software tools Developing calculations, visualizations, manuals, risk assessments and other key documents Ensuring efficient execution that delivers the right results for the customer WHAT YOU’LL NEED Education & Experience Experience in engineering operation practices and systems, Heavy lift and transport equipment, industry relevant codes and standards English, fluent proficiency verbal and written Evidence of experience in a similar role, ideally in any/some of the following sectors: civil engineering, construction, renewables, oil and gas, offshore, ports and mining, is preferred 0-3 years of relevant work experience A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering Eligible for registration with APEGA as Engineer-in-Training Characteristics of a Successful candidate: Problem solver, ability to translate engineering judgement into practical solutions Ability to work under pressure, Effective time management skills Professional and independent worker Excellent communication skills Multi-task orientated Client service-focused Flexible and comfortable in both office and field environments WHAT YOU’LL GET Opportunity for travel Health and Dental Benefits RRSP match Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Company sponsored wellness program and initiatives Company sponsored social events WANT TO KNOW MORE? Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering and be eligible for APEGA registration. Experience in engineering operation practices and proficiency in English are required, with 0-3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
