About the Role NPC DataGuard is looking for a Business Development Representative to create qualified sales opportunities for our Account Management team. This role is for someone who is self motivated, organized and comfortable working independently. You do not need a manager checking in throughout the day to stay focused. You know what needs to be done and take personal responsibility for doing it well. Much of the work is consistent by design. Research prospects. Make calls. Send emails. Follow up. Update the CRM. Repeat. If you take satisfaction in building a routine, keeping your commitments and seeing consistent effort turn into results, you will enjoy this role. Responsibilities Research businesses and decision makers within assigned markets Make consistent outbound calls and emails to new prospects Speak with small and medium sized business owners and professionals about their technology and cybersecurity challenges Ask thoughtful questions and identify qualified opportunities for your Account Manager Book sales meetings and build pipeline Maintain accurate notes, activities and follow up dates in the CRM Follow through when you say you will Meet established activity, meeting and pipeline targets Learn how NPC helps businesses improve security, reliability and their overall computing experience Qualifications Previous B2B prospecting, inside sales or business development experience Comfortable making outbound calls and developing new relationships Technology, IT, cybersecurity, hardware or software experience is an asset Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong organization and personal follow through Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Able to learn technology concepts and explain their business value clearly Required Skills Self motivated, organized and comfortable working independently Comfortable making outbound calls and developing new relationships Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong organization and personal follow through Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Able to learn technology concepts and explain their business value clearly Preferred Skills Previous B2B prospecting, inside sales or business development experience Technology, IT, cybersecurity, hardware or software experience is an asset Additional Role Fit Information You are comfortable picking up the phone and starting conversations with people you have never spoken with before. You do not take rejection personally. A difficult call does not affect the quality of your next one. You are disciplined enough to remain productive when nobody is watching. You naturally keep yourself organized. If a prospect asks you to call next month, you remember and make the call. You are comfortable doing repetitive work when you understand its purpose. You prefer clear expectations and the freedom to manage your own day. You are patient and understand that opportunities may develop over several conversations. You listen well, communicate professionally and can explain technology in straightforward language. You measure yourself by your commitments and results rather than by how closely someone manages you. This Role May Not Be for You If You need frequent supervision to stay productive. You need constant variety to remain engaged. You strongly dislike outbound calling or following up repeatedly. You become discouraged easily when prospects say no or do not respond. Pay range and compensation package Base salary of $45,000 to $55,000, depending on experience On target earnings of $69,000 to $79,000 Company paid health benefits Generous vacation policy Technology and cybersecurity training Opportunity to progress into an Account Manager role based on demonstrated performance, consistency and readiness Equal Opportunity Statement This posting is for an existing vacancy.
