Job summary
CNC Programmer – Machining POSITION SUMMARY The incumbent is responsible for developing and optimizing programs for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), milling, and turning operations. The role ensures efficient, safe, and high-quality production while respecting established manufacturing standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications for tools and parts to be programmed using electronic and/or paper documentation provided by engineering, design, or other departments. Establish machining processes and routing according to company standards and procedures. Develop EDM programs adapted to raw materials and manufacturing requirements in order to optimize part machining. Create milling and/or turning programs that ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality machining operations. Optimize machining parameters to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize errors. Electronically transmit program files to the appropriate stakeholders. Create and maintain programming files containing all required information for machining operations. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. PERIODIC TASKS Update HTML documentation. Maintain and update master programs (“masters”).
