Job Description We are seeking an experienced Open Liberty Architect to design and architect enterprise applications using Open Liberty/WebSphere Liberty. The role will focus on application modernization, migration from traditional WebSphere Application Server (WAS) to Open Liberty, cloud-native microservices, and scalable enterprise architecture. Key Responsibilities Design and architect enterprise applications using Open Liberty/WebSphere Liberty. Lead WAS-to-Open Liberty migration and modernization initiatives. Develop cloud-native microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, and Open Liberty. Define application architecture, deployment strategies, and integration patterns. Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices. Design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions. Conduct architecture and design reviews. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams. Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize application environments. Create architecture documentation, technical standards, and governance frameworks. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams. Requirements Strong experience with Open Liberty / WebSphere Liberty. Strong knowledge of IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS). Hands-on experience with WAS-to-Open Liberty migration/modernization. Strong Java, Spring Boot, Jakarta EE/Java EE experience. Experience designing microservices and enterprise applications. Knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD, and DevOps. Strong understanding of application integration and deployment strategies. Experience with scalability, high availability, security, and performance optimization. Strong architecture, documentation, communication, and technical leadership skills. Toronto, ON – Onsite availability.
