Primero America’s team is currently looking for a Project Development Manager This is a unique opportunity to join our talented team and be part of Primero’s growth and success. Primero is an Australian-founded company, established in 2011 and growing consistently in Montreal since 2016. We expanded into Houston in 2022 and Toronto in 2023, strengthening our North American presence. We specialize in the design, procurement, and construction management of mineral processing plants. As a Project Development Manager, you will lead Primero Americas’ efforts in identifying and securing new business opportunities, including target identification, lead generation, and tendering activities. You will play a key role in building and maintaining client relationships, negotiating contracts, and supporting the development of a strong project pipeline. You will also contribute to business strategy through market insights, client feedback, and competitive awareness, while supporting marketing initiatives and CRM adoption. From time to time, you may also support ongoing studies and projects in areas such as procurement, study management, or engineering. The role operates under a hybrid work model, combining regular in-office presence with remote work and occasional in-person client meetings. The Project Development Manager reports directly to the General Manager – Operations. Key Responsibilities * Provide overall leadership and direction for Primero operations, including office and project management * Drive operational excellence and alignment with Primero’s global standards * Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (including ITAR and export controls, where applicable) * Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities aligned with Primero’s growth strategy * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders * Represent Primero in the North American market and support brand visibility * Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and support the securing of new mandates * Contribute to strategic planning through market insights, client feedback, and competitive awareness * Monitor key performance indicators and support achievement of business objectives * Lead, mentor, and develop team members in a collaborative, high-performance environment * Support recruitment, retention, and performance management in partnership with HR * Champion Primero’s values and promote a safe, inclusive workplace WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * 10–15 years of experience in business development, engineering, project management, and leadership roles * Experience in the mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial EPC/EPCM sector * Strong understanding of environmental, compliance, and regulatory requirements in North America * Solid commercial acumen, including cost control, budgeting, and P&L management * Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary teams * Strong client relationship skills and an established industry network * Demonstrated track record of delivering large-scale projects (from studies through execution and commissioning) * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the company effectively with clients and stakeholders KEY STRENGTHS * Strategic leadership – Thinks long-term and delivers results * Client focus – Builds strong, lasting partnerships * Decision-making – Strong problem-solving and organizational skills * People leadership – Inspires, develops, and supports teams * Communication & integrity – Clear, accountable, and values-driven * Safety mindset – Promotes health, safety, quality, and environmental standards Position details: * 40 hours per week * Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada or in United-States, depending on the job location * Competitive salary tailored to your skills and experience * Comprehensive benefits starting on day one * Retirement plan with 5% employer contribution * Up to 10 paid sick days per year * Flexible and hybrid work schedule * Friendly and relaxed work environment Send your application to: HR@primero.ca GENERAL INFORMATION Name Project Development Manager Ref # 1272444 Date Wednesday, April 22, 2026 Country Canada Department Project Development Business unit Business Development
