Founded in 1971 as Rutherford Contracting Services, our organization was established by Dick Rutherford as a small civil, renovation, and maintenance contracting company. Despite Dick’s retirement in 1989, our company has continued to thrive under the guidance of both Principals and Management. Today, Rutherford Contracting Ltd. is widely recognized as the preferred contractor for Owners and Consultants in the construction field. As a General Building and Site Development Contractor, we serve the industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors. Our building construction division specializes in educational facility renovations and additions, as well as the restoration of historically significant structures. Additionally, our site development division handles civil and infrastructure contracts, park and athletic sports field construction, trail development, and re-naturalization/habitat projects. To meet ongoing maintenance needs, we operate a facilities management division dedicated to serving our valued clients. They must also conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.

The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for building projects and managing the tendering process. They also coordinate with project managers during construction and assist in mentoring junior staff.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects of construction projects, including budgeting and financial monitoring. They must also manage relationships with owners, consultants, and subcontractors while ensuring site safety and schedule compliance.
