JOB OVERVIEW
The Avionics Assembler/Installer (A/I) will be joining the Manufacturing and Repair, Avionics shop team to support installation, modification, inspection, and repair of aircraft electrical and electronic systems. This includes the fabrication and assembly of wiring harnesses, electrical racks, wire kits, and related assemblies of avionics components in accordance with manufacturing and repair data.
The Avionics A/I reports directly to the Avionics Shop Lead Hand in support of the avionics shop production as well as heavy maintenance and modification projects. (punctually)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation & modification:
- Assembling Wire bundles as per provided technical data
- Perform the calibration of avionics tooling in support to hangar operation
- Operation of laser-wire marker and label printer
- Building up avionics components kits
- Control of avionics stores and tool crib
- Performing other duties as assigned
Demonstrated Technical Skills: The Avionics (A/I) is expected to be able to demonstrate his/her capability to perform and learn the following technical functions:
- Standard Wiring Practices
- Able to find & read applicable wiring diagrams, and relevant technical data
- Good knowledge of tooling, workshop equipment, and HSE procedures
Safety: The Avionics (A/I) is expected to apply safe work practices in all job duties, including:
- Wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment
- Understanding and applying the company’s Risk Management System
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards
- Understanding and applying safe handling practices with electrical components and on aircraft.
- Complying with all safety requirements, precautions, and procedures
Documentation: The Avionics Assembler/Installer (A/I) is responsible for becoming familiar with KF Aerospace documentation and parts ordering processes, including the following:
- Ensures work package documentation for assigned tasks or project is complete and submitted to the Avionics Shop Lead hand for approval.
- Sources required technical information from applicable maintenance manuals accurately and in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS
- Technical acumen and ability to work safely with basic tooling
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Demonstrated organizational skills & attention to detail
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of electrical/electronic systems assets (preferred)
- Basic computer skills and ERP general knowledge (preferred)
- Good oral & written communication skills
- Able to take direction from others
- Proactive
- Must be physically fit
HOURS OF WORK
- Monday to Friday 7:00 to 3:30 shift position. Employees may be required to work afternoons or weekends based on business requirements.

As Avionics (A/I) with KF Aerospace you can start a rewarding career with a team of people who are passionate about their craft. The wage range for this position is $22.10 to $27.62 per hour. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The maximum of the wage range is for full company and job knowledge. Starting wages will be closer to the start to mid-point.
Career and wage progression are available via performance reviews and the opportunity to become a Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace Certified Electrical/Electronic Assembler. As a certified Electrical/Electronic Assembler the wage range is $27.26 to $34.07.
