The ministry directly manages Ontario's adult correctional institutions and probation and parole offices. Other areas of responsibility include policing, death investigations, forensic sciences, fire safety and investigations, emergency management, animal welfare, and private security and investigative services. The ministry is committed to reforming the provincial correctional system and modernizing policing to support safe, strong communities across Ontario.
