Job summary
Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient patients while adhering to safe radiation practices. Coordinate daily schedules and maintain equipment and documentation according to departmental policies.

Duties/Responsibilities Performs x-rays and operates equipment in the department/portably and in the operating room Completes imaging requests on ED/IP/OP patients in a timely, safe and professional manner Coordinates daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases as required Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures in the department, in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures Complies with safe radiation practices at all times. Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required Reports to senior technologists and manager Participates in the orientation of new staff and students as directed Assists radiology residents and fellows within the division as required Performs required care and maintenance of equipment as required. Maintains adequate records and documentation according to departmental policy and procedures and exams Qualifications/Skills CMRTO Registration required CAMRT Registration preferred Recent related technologist experience required Related technologist experience in a Hospital environment preferred Demonstrates ability to work well independently and in a team environment. Demonstrates initiative and comfort with decision making Demonstrates an ability to be flexible in order to respond to changing and emergent situations Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills Able to perform in a high stress and busy environment

Requirements
Requires CMRTO registration and recent technologist experience, preferably within a hospital environment. CAMRT registration is preferred along with the ability to work in high-stress environments.
