From day one, you’ll work on production systems — not toy problems — alongside experienced engineers who care deeply about craft, judgment, and impact. You’ll contribute to features across our core products, learn how large-scale systems are designed and shipped, and develop a strong engineering foundation in a modern, AI-first environment. What You’ll Do As a Software Engineer at Superhuman, you will: Ship production-grade code that impacts over 40 million daily active users across our suite of AI-powered productivity tools Build and iterate on features for Grammarly, Coda, Superhuman Mail, and Go Work with cutting-edge AI technologies and modern web frameworks Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver delightful user experiences Develop AI-native features that leverage large language models, natural language processing, and intelligent automation Learn how to build large-scale distributed systems that are highly available and reliable Learn best practices around system design, testing, deployment, and scalability Contribute to technical discussions and help shape the direction of your team’s projects Grow rapidly through mentorship, feedback, and hands-on ownership of real projects Make a meaningful impact on the lives of millions of people who rely on our products every day Must-haves What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), graduating in 2026 or 2027 Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, C++) Experience with web tech (React, Node.js, TypeScript) Experience building software through internships, personal projects, open source contributions, hackathons, or coursework AI native and experienced in using AI coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex for productivity gains Solid understanding of system design, databases, and back-end architecture Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams A demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manage tasks and priorities, analyze and execute work efficiently, and thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment Nice-to-haves Previous internship experience at a technology company Experience with web tech (React, Node.js, TypeScript) Exposure to AI/ML tools, APIs, or frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain, TensorFlow, PyTorch) Familiarity with modern engineering workflows (Git, CI/CD, testing frameworks) Track record of shipping projects end-to-end Comfort navigating ambiguity and learning new technologies quickly Compensation And Benefits Superhuman offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package encompassing the following and more: Excellent health care (including a wide range of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and fertility benefits) Disability and life insurance options 401(k) and RRSP matching Paid parental leave 20 days of paid time off per year, 12 days of paid holidays per year, two floating holidays per year, and flexible sick time Generous stipends (including those for caregiving, pet care, wellness, your home office, and more) Annual professional development budget and opportunities Superhuman takes a market-based approach to compensation, so base pay may vary by location. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined by compensation zone and may be modified in the future. Requirements
Applicants must have or be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, graduating in 2026 or 2027, or equivalent practical experience. They should have strong computer science fundamentals, proficiency in a programming language, web development experience, software project experience, familiarity with system design and back-end architecture, and the ability to collaborate and work independently.
