Territory Manager – Northern Ontario (Thunder Bay Area) Permanent | Full-Time (40 hrs/week) | Management (non-union) Our client, an established provider of outpatient addiction treatment across Ontario, is looking for a Territory Manager to lead a group of clinics across Northern Ontario. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to build strong, supportive clinic teams and make a real difference in patient care in communities that need it. You'll oversee day-to-day clinic operations, build and develop your teams, and keep clinic performance on track using KPIs. You'll be the go-to leader for the nursing teams in your territory — handling scheduling, hiring, performance management, training and policy questions — and you'll step in to help cover staffing gaps when needed. Office days are flexible and can be worked from a clinic or from home. Location requirement: Candidates must live within 50 km of Thunder Bay, ON. Open to nursing and non-healthcare backgrounds: A nursing background (RN/RPN) is an asset, but we will also consider strong multi-site operations leaders who don't have healthcare experience. Please note – this role involves heavy travel. You'll travel regularly to support clinics across the territory and respond to staffing shortages (as often as once per week). You must be comfortable with frequent long-distance driving across Northern Ontario. Mileage, employer-booked hotels and a daily meal allowance are provided. Key Responsibilities Operations (approx. 80%) Manage day-to-day operations of a group of clinics, including performance and regular KPI reporting Mentor and guide clinic staff to build a culture of empowerment, respect and non-judgement Support and train new and existing staff to deliver optimal patient care, working as one team with pharmacy partners Oversee staff scheduling and maintain appropriate staffing at each clinic Lead hiring: staffing requests, resume review, interviews and offers Hold regular huddles at each clinic to share updates, give feedback and act on staff concerns Complete performance reviews with support from the Regional Manager; escalate high-impact issues Liaise with union representatives to foster positive working relationships Uphold policies, procedures and health & safety requirements; action clinic repair requests Approve payroll timecards (ADP) Provide relief coverage in clinics when critical staffing issues can't otherwise be resolved Community Engagement (approx. 20%) Build relationships with community organizations to promote services Identify opportunities to expand services through community partnerships (e.g., addiction counselling) Educate direct reports on using community resources What You Bring Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (healthcare preferred, but not required) CNO Certificate of Competence preferred; other medical certifications an asset Experience managing operations across multiple sites; addiction or mental health settings an asset Proven ability to lead teams through change Experience working with unionized staff considered an asset Comfort with MS Office, KPI tracking/reporting and multi-site scheduling; ADP an asset Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle Satisfactory criminal record check (completed during onboarding, after an offer is accepted) A commitment to respectful, non-judgemental care for people seeking addiction treatment Compensation & Benefits Range of $65,000 – $75,000/year Benefits package eligible after 3 months Vacation time plus 10 wellness days per year (5 paid, 5 unpaid) RRSP matching (1%) Continuing education credit and nursing licence reimbursement Mileage at $0.58/km, employer-booked hotels and $50/day meal allowance when travelling Interested? Requirements
Requires post-secondary education in a relevant discipline and at least three years of leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, with multi-site operations experience and the ability to lead teams through change. A nursing background or CNO Certificate of Competence is preferred; candidates also need a valid driver's licence, reliable vehicle, comfort with frequent long-distance travel, and must live within 50 km of Thunder Bay.
