Job summary

We are looking for a heavy-duty industrial professional to join our team as a Boilermaker. This role is designed for an individual who holds or is looking to finish their requirements to achieve their Red Seal Endorsement (RSE). Whether you are an experienced Journeyperson or a senior apprentice in the final stages of your certification, you will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of boilers, tanks, and other large vessels. Working in our facility or on-site, you will be expected to uphold the Red Seal Occupational Standard (RSOS), ensuring structural integrity and safety in high-pressure environments. Core Responsibilities In accordance with the national standards for the Boilermaker trade, your primary duties include: Fabrication & Assembly: Read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings to layout, cut, and shape steel plate and pipe for the construction of boilers and pressure vessels. Rigging & Hoisting: Calculate load weights and select appropriate rigging gear (slings, shackles, cranes) to safely move massive components in industrial settings. Welding & Securing: Perform high-quality welding (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW), tacking, and bolting of heavy metal parts, ensuring all seams meet pressure-test standards. Maintenance & Repair: Conduct inspections and repairs on existing vessels, including the removal and replacement of tubes, valves, and manholes. Fitting & Alignment: Align and fit parts using jacks, wedges, and turnbuckles to prepare for final welding or bolting. Safety Leadership: Adhere to strict confined space entry protocols, fall protection requirements, and hot work permits. Mentorship: If certified, supervise and train apprentices. If finishing requirements, ensure all hours and competencies related to rigging, fitting, and welding are documented in your Apprentice Logbook. Qualifications & Requirements Certification Status: Must be a Journeyperson or a Senior Apprentice currently looking to finish their requirements to achieve their Red Seal Endorsement (RSE). Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of pressure vessel codes (ASME), welding symbols, and industrial rigging techniques. Physical Capability: Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding industrial environments (lifting 25kg+). Work Ethic: Strong commitment to safety and precision—there is zero margin for error in high-pressure systems. Travel/Shift Work: Willingness to work on-site at refineries, power plants, or pulp mills, which may include overtime and "shutdown" schedules. The Red Seal Standard The Boilermaker Red Seal is a symbol of elite industrial skill. We support your career by providing: The Final Mile: For those finishing their RSE, we provide the diverse on-site experience (rigging, tube fitting, and welding) required to pass the Interprovincial Exam. Competitive Industrial Wages: Pay scales that reflect the hazardous and highly skilled nature of the trade, aligned with national standards. Nationwide Recognition: An RSE credential that ensures your skills are mobile and respected across every industrial sector in Canada. Salary: 28 - 30 CAD Per hour
