Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development - ICI & Civil to drive growth across Ontario’s Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI) and Civil construction markets. This is a senior-level business development role for a well-connected construction professional who understands that successful business development starts well before a project goes to tender. The successful candidate will identify upcoming opportunities, build relationships with key decision-makers, and position Advance Forming Inc. to secure major formwork, concrete and related construction projects. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new ICI and Civil construction opportunities throughout Ontario. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, particularly during the planning, design and preconstruction stages. Develop relationships with General Contractors, Construction Managers, Developers, Owners, Consultants, Engineers and other key industry stakeholders. Introduce Advance Forming Inc. to new clients and establish long-term business relationships. Monitor public and private sector construction activity, major capital programs and infrastructure opportunities. Work closely with estimating and management to determine project fit, bid strategy and competitive positioning. Provide market intelligence on competitors, clients, procurement strategies and upcoming projects. Participate in client meetings, project presentations, tender reviews, negotiations and industry events. Track opportunities from initial identification through tender, negotiation and award. Identify new markets, clients and geographic opportunities aligned with company capabilities. Maintain accurate pipeline information and provide regular business development reports to ownership and management. Qualifications & Experience Significant experience in business development, estimating, preconstruction, project management or senior operations within the Ontario construction industry. Strong knowledge of the ICI and/or Civil construction sectors. Established relationships with General Contractors, Developers, Construction Managers, Consultants and other industry decision-makers. Experience with concrete construction, formwork, structural concrete or heavy civil construction is a strong asset. Solid understanding of construction tendering, procurement and contract award processes. Ability to assess project opportunities using drawings, specifications and preliminary project information. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and relationships simultaneously. Willingness and ability to travel throughout the GTA and Ontario as required.
