JOB DESCRIPTION The Equipment Control Associate treats the inbound and outbound orders that come in during the day, ensuring that proper paper works are received or given by/to the drivers. This position is responsible for the reading all requests, entering information in the system and planning accordingly in order to ensure proper treatment of the orders. Note: This Job Description may not encompass the entire scope of this role, as other duties maybe assigned by management. RESPONSIBILITIES * Use equipment inventory systems for interchanges, bookings, invoices, etc.; * Use the client’s portal in order to track and monitor all inbound and outbound shipping requests to and from the terminal; * Troubleshoot & diagnose system problems; * Adhering to policies and procedures as well as regulatory compliance; * Monitoring and coordination of inbound and outbound shipping requests; * Rectify problems, such as late& non-delivery of product; * Comply with laws, regulations and standards; * Document shipping information into the GT Hub * Verify container’s numbers to assist the reach stacker operator; * Monitors the waiting time for all transport coming in and out; * Reports every incident/accident in the yard to the proper person; * Ensures that nobody is left in the yard when closing the gates at the end of the day and that all staff completed correctly their paperwork; * Respond to customer inquiries; answers customer’s calls and emails in a timely manner; * Enters bookings; * Ensure that customers are highly regarded and receive exceptional service during the shipping of customers’ product; * Address problems with shipping delays and client deadlines; * Ensures that customs & borders paperwork and documentation are thoroughly completed; * Work out problematic situations with customs, borders and brokers; * Assists custom & border officers in their inspection; Additional Responsibilities * Performs other related work as required POSITION REQUIREMENTS * Bilingualism (English /French), due to the international nature of the role; * College diploma in logistics and/or transport, administration or any related field is required; * 1-2 years work experience in the logistics/transport industry or equivalent; * 1-2 years general office experience, including telephone techniques and computer skills. * Knowledge of MS Office Suite; * Knowledge of the transport industry is preferable; * Knowledge of the container industry is preferable; * Experience in transport documentation processing is an asset; * Expresses ideas clearly and effectively; * Strong listening skills - listens to understand; is not judgmental; * Conflict resolution - confronts problems openly and works constructively to find common ground BENEFITS * Collective insurance after 3 months (health, life, disability, telemedicine, dental, travel); * Free on-site parking; * Year-round events; * Closely-knit friendly team; GT GROUP is committed to equal opportunity in employment for women, aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities and persons who are because of race or colour, in a visible minority in Canada.
