YOUR ROLE The Transportation Operations Supervisor is a permanent, full-time, on-site position based in Montreal, Quebec. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day transportation operations, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring container movements, shipments, and logistics activities to ensure efficient, on-time service delivery. The incumbent will lead and support the operations team by assigning work, managing workloads, and resolving issues related to scheduling, route optimization, and resource allocation. The role also includes monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing operational data, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with company policies, the collective agreement, and occupational health and safety standards. The Transportation Operations Supervisor works closely with internal teams, business partners, and customers to provide operational updates, address concerns, and maintain a high level of service quality. The incumbent is also responsible for fostering a positive work environment and maintaining productive labour relations within a unionized workplace. QUALIFICATIONS * Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing teams in transportation, logistics, or a related industry. * Experience working in a unionized environment is required. * Thorough understanding of transportation operations and operational management, including planning, coordination, and process optimization. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, identify issues, and recommend practical improvements. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, customers, and business partners. * Experience in transportation, logistics, container services, or related industries; knowledge of the international shipping industry is considered an asset. * Bilingualism (English and French) is required. * Ability to work on-site in Montreal, Quebec, in a fast-paced operational environment. * Proficiency with transportation planning, operations management, and reporting software. * Postsecondary education in Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
