Job summary
Survey Technologist/Crew Chief 3D Geomatics looking for a motivated Survey Technologist to support a BC based Civil survey and Land Surveying firm. The Ideal applicant should have several years of experience and a solid understanding of the BC transportation industry (MoTI), land development, municipal, civil earthworks and engineering infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include: • The ability to take and follow instructions from a Project Manager and/or client; • Perform survey project tasks and communicate in a clear and accurate manner; • Maintain vehicle and equipment in ready condition; • Willing to learn new technologies and adapt to new techniques; • Understand and comply with quality assurance and safety/environmental policies and procedures. Require the following skills/qualifications: • A degree or diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering or similar from an industry recognized institution is preferred; • Member of ASTTBC or eligible to apply for membership; • A minimum of 3-5 years of field experience in a Crew Chief role; • Ability to execute a variety of survey projects in an accurate, thorough and safe manner; • Working knowledge of RTK GPS and Total (Robotic) Stations; • Willingness and ability to assist with training and mentoring of junior staff; • Ability to liaise with clients and company staff; • Ability to work unsupervised and able to occasionally travel to remote BC locations; • Proficient with computers, data collectors and related software applications; • Possess a valid operator's license.
