Job summary

The Opportunity Join 4AG Robotics for your next co-op or internship term and help shape the future of agricultural automation. As part of our mechanical design team, you’ll contribute to developing and improving the robotic systems that power our mushroom harvesting technology. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your work has a direct impact on product innovation and performance. What You’ll Do Evaluate existing robotic products to identify opportunities for enhancement, optimization, and innovation. Support the development of functional prototypes to test performance and validate design concepts. Translate high-level requirements into efficient and well-defined subsystem designs. Create clear, detailed product operational and safety procedures. Gather and incorporate feedback from engineers, designers, and stakeholders to refine mechanical designs. Assist in project planning and scheduling to ensure mechanical design tasks are completed on time. What Success Looks Like You take ownership of your work and deliver design solutions that improve reliability, performance, and safety. You collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contributing ideas and constructive feedback. You demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical systems, applying both creative and analytical thinking. You proactively seek out opportunities to learn new tools, technologies, and techniques. You help advance the team’s mission to continually innovate and push the boundaries of agricultural automation. What You Bring Currently studying or have experience in Mechatronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers. A safety-first mindset and attention to compliance with industry standards. Excellent communication skills to share design concepts, challenges, and solutions. A solutions-focused approach and passion for continuous improvement. Curiosity and drive to research and implement new ideas to enhance robotic systems. Technical Skills You’ll Use and Grow: 3D CAD design and simulation (Onshape) 3D printing and rapid prototyping Machine shop tools and equipment (mills, lathes, saws, welders, etc.) Pneumatic systems and actuator sizing 2D drawings for manufacturing Microsoft 365 Mechanism and linkage design for automation Why This Role Matters At 4AG Robotics, we’re redefining what’s possible in agriculture through robotics, computer vision, and AI.
