K9’s Explosive Dog Detection (EDD) Services are the largest private canine EDD service in Canada. We provide a global solution to local needs and an effective solution to the detection of explosives and explosive trace elements. A.S.P. is looking for a K9 handler to be part of the Explosive Detection Dog and Handler Team (EDDHT) program under Transport Canada. As an EDDHT, you are responsible for Explosives Detection searches of air cargo such as ULD’s, palletized and non-palletized cargo, mailbags and other required items. EDDHT’s maintain a high level of training and readiness, and respond to threats and emergencies with integrity, respect, and responsibility. What you will do: * Complete and maintain a certification in the EDDHT program under Transport Canada; * Complete and maintain a Transport Security Clearance (TSC) under Transport Canada; * Responsible for the 24-hour housing, care, well-being of their assigned canine; * Carry out K9 duties, including working indoors and outdoors under all different conditions; * Be flexible & willing to work in unpredictable, and often last-minute canine service requests; * Daily training on explosives detection and maintenance records complying with Federal Regulations. Who you are: * Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education; * Eligible to work in Canada; * Proficient in English * Proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office; * Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail; * Excellent written & verbal communication and active listening skills; * Must Possess a valid Security licence, Drivers Licence (G or Higher) with a clear a driving abstract and Basic First Aid and CPR certification; * Must be willing to provide Criminal Record check upon request; * Security experience an asset. Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma, a valid security license, and a driver's license with a clean abstract. Applicants are also required to obtain a Transport Security Clearance and hold current First Aid and CPR certifications.
