The company celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018 and continues to grow. We are currently looking to hire full-time and part-time bus marshals to support a contract with Metrolinx. Marshals will be working out of one of the following locations: Hamilton GO Centre, Union Station Bus Terminal (USBT) or Yorkdale Station. What AAI Offers? Competitive compensation ($18/hour), along with benefits upon successful completion of the six (6) months’ probation period Opportunities to grow within the company Location: Hamilton Go Station Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time & Casual Purpose: The Bus Marshal uses standardized marshaling signals to guide bus operators as they maneuver GO busses in blind spots, tight spaces and local public traffic. The Bus Marshal also directs pedestrians in the area to keep them safe and provides exceptional customer service. Core Duties: Lead by example-uphold the reputation of AAI under all circumstances Use standardized bus marshaling signals to assertively coordinate and direct the safe movement of GO busses, particularly as they back out across pedestrian sidewalks and into public streets Comply with all safety and security requirements Provide excellent customer service Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Minimum 18 years of age Minimum of OSSD (high school diploma) or equivalent Available to work shifts to meet operational requirements, including weekends and holidays Demonstrated situational awareness, security compliance as well as the ability to read, write and converse in English Ability to work safely and fully engage in a culture of safety and customer service Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Ability to work outdoors in all seasons provided Ability to work long and irregular hours. Ability to adjust to very busy and very slow periods during your shift Ability to start work on time and maintain a good attendance record Ability to work independently and in team settings Ability to wear appropriate uniform and PPE Demonstrated good judgement and ability to work independently with minimal supervision Clear background check (no criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted) Three references for applicant’s good character (from people who are not related to the applicant) Completion of the following four (4) modules prior to the first day of work: Human Rights, 101, Health and Safety 4 Steps for Workers, AODA and WHMIS Nice to Have: Customer service experience Awareness of how to respectfully assist persons with disabilities French and other languages for customer service Any form of mental health awareness training (e.g. Mental Health First Aid certification)

Requirements

Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma and the ability to work outdoors in all seasons. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and complete mandatory training modules prior to starting.
