Summary of Position Abalone Construction is a privately owned company with over 40 years specializing in Industrial and Commercial civil construction. We offer construction services in a variety of markets including Infrastructure, Roadbuilding, and Land Development. Reporting to the foreman, scraper operators are an integral member of field operations, responsible for providing support on our projects. Role and Responsibilities Move heavy volumes in a safe, efficient & professional manner Complete field documentation as required including equipment maintenance logs Use existing procedures to perform inspections, reporting deficiencies, and solving minor maintenance or technical problems Follow directions that are spoken or given by hand signals Perform other related duties as required Qualifications, Training and Education Must have 1-3 years’ experience operating a scraper Gradesman experience is considered an asset Must have valid CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance and CSA approved 8” steel toe work boots Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required Working Conditions Scraper operators will be working outside in all weather conditions. They must be able to spend long periods of time sitting in their vehicle, or walking/standing on the job site. They must be willing to commit to 50 + hours per week at various project locations. Typical shifts are 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Requirements

Requires 1-3 years of scraper operation experience and a valid driver's license with a personal vehicle. Must possess CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, and Ground Disturbance certifications.
