Job Summary We are seeking an Engineering Manager for a new aluminum die casting and machining facility in Vaughan, ON. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with full accountability for the Manufacturing Engineering function from new product process planning and equipment selection through to volume production and process improvement. You will lead the engineering team through plant start-up and ramp, planning process routes, tooling, and fixtures, while driving efficiency, cost, safety, and quality. The role requires strong automotive manufacturing experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment. Travel: Periodic travel, including to China for technical training during equipment transfer, may be required. Key Responsibilities New Product & Process Development: Plan process routes, equipment selection, and tooling/fixture design. Provide engineering support for launches and running production. Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve OEE, productivity, cost, safety, and quality. Drive continuous improvement across all programs. Department Leadership: Manage and mentor the Manufacturing Engineering team. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Purchasing to meet plant objectives. Quality & Compliance: Apply and enforce IATF 16949 requirements. Support ISO 14001 environmental standards. Ensure engineering staff complete WHMIS and OHSA training. Technical Problem Solving: Resolve die casting, machining, and quality issues promptly. Support product quotations and new process development. What We’re Looking For Process Expertise: Deep knowledge of aluminum/non-ferrous die casting and machining processes, equipment, and tooling. Leadership: 3+ years in technical management within manufacturing. Proven ability to build team capability and solve complex problems. Start-up Experience: Comfortable working in a fast-moving plant start-up environment. Cross-functional Partner: Strong collaboration skills with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance. Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Casting/Foundry Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Strong knowledge of IATF 16949. P.Eng. designation is an asset. Proficient in Microsoft 365 and CAD/engineering software. Language: English required. Mandarin is an asset. Requirements
Requires a degree or diploma in Mechanical or Casting Engineering and at least 3 years of technical management experience in manufacturing. Deep expertise in non-ferrous die casting and knowledge of IATF 16949 standards are essential.
