About the Role: Reporting to the VP, Head of Contracts, North America, the primary mandate of the AVP, Contracts will be to ensure accurate and consistent contracts by practicing excellent communication skills to refine requests with brokers and apply technical writing skills to review and deliver reinsurance contracts, I&Ls, and other contracts related to reinsurance placements. Key Responsibilities: • Draft, review, and deliver reinsurance contract documents to internal and external clients that accurately reflect negotiated terms. • Revise documents as needed throughout the lifecycle of the reinsurance placement and evaluate contract revisions holistically to ensure contract terms continue to align. • Apply automated tools thoughtfully to ensure accurate and timely finalization of contract documents. • Practice the collaborative, negotiation and investigative skills needed to secure detailed contract information to promote efficient workflow with broker teams. • Make informed, thoughtful, and relevant recommendations to the contractual product, raising potential issues as appropriate. • Actively collaborate with internal teams to develop automation and AI tools to reduce the administrative burden traditionally associated with managing reinsurance contracts. • Proactively recommend coverage and wording enhancements and raise potential coverage issues, as appropriate. • Engage in calls with clients, markets, and colleagues in a professional manner. • Leverage excellent writing skills to influence internal and external business partners and expedite contract negotiations. • Leverage excellent Word skills to manage a high volume of documents efficiently and accurately. • Pursue 100% accuracy in applying Acrisure Re processes and drafting guidelines through consistent attention to detail and adherence to established standards. Skills, Experience, and Education: • Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for English, Technical Writing, or other communications/analytical writing degree. • Minimum of 3 years of experience on a Contracts team, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in the re/insurance industry. Candidates with a law degree and a minimum of 1 year (full-time) experience in a Contracts department will also be considered. • Demonstrated ability to leverage Word functions. • Ability to self-direct work and manage fluctuating workloads. • Ability to quickly build strong rapport with broker teams and colleagues in a virtual environment. • Awareness of North America contract law and basic regulatory controls and general business trends. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). • Business acumen and excellent writing and editing skills that can be leveraged to influence business partners and colleagues at all levels of the organization. • Demonstrated ability to contribute as part of a high-performance team and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in contracts (preferably in re/insurance) or a law degree with 1 year of experience. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong understanding of North American contract law.
