About the Role We are Seeking a Lead Educator for our Preschool program at our Calgary Sage Hill (NW) location who possess a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication and multitasking abilities. This individual must have strong leadership and classroom management skills. Prior experience is required, and candidates must possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 2, or 3, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification. Key Responsibilities Creating and implementing engaging programming tailored to the interests and needs of the children. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the environment. Leading and supporting children in integrated learning and recreational activities. Actively supervising and engaging with children while ensuring their well-being. Providing regular communication to parents through monthly newsletters and daily updates. Cultivating positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Participating in professional development initiatives. Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies and procedures to ensure quality care. Qualifications Prior childcare/daycare experience is required (Preferably Preschool experience) Level 2 or 3 Child Care Certification (or equivalent) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Professional, adaptable, and fluent in English Proficiency in computer applications and administrative systems Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations (preferred) Current Criminal Record Check and First Aid Certification Why Join Active Start?
