Contributing in this role means : * Ensure that all equipment required to complete the job is on hand in accordance with project requirements; * Adjust pressure and equipment as required; * Check initial condition of steel surfaces and record on job sheet. * Perform solvent cleaning as per SSPC-SP1 * Perform abrasive blasting using hoses and nozzles, in accordance with SSPC, AMPP, NACE and/or all other certified standards; * Follow and complete the route sheet and call the inspector when an inspection point is identified; * Operate overhead cranes and forklifts according to safety standards; * Notify foreman of any problem situation, defect or fault when rework is required or non-conformance has been identified; * Ensure that the identification of all products supplied by customers is maintained/protected throughout operations; * Any other related tasks. What we are looking for : * High school diploma (D.E.S.) or /and vocational diploma in a related field; * Experience and knowledge of blueprint reading; * Knowledge of SSPC standards; * Experience in sandblasting, grinding or surface preparation (asset); * Overhead crane competency card (asset); * Spoken and written languages: French and English (asset); * Manual dexterity and attention to detail; * Teamwork and adaptability. What you’ll do

Perform abrasive blasting and solvent cleaning on steel surfaces in accordance with certified standards. Operate overhead cranes and forklifts while ensuring all equipment and project requirements are met.

Requirements

Requires a high school or vocational diploma with knowledge of SSPC standards and blueprint reading. Experience in sandblasting and overhead crane competency are considered assets.
