Job Description Position: Lab Technician Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba Position Type: Operations Salary: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Pre-employment Requirement: Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference check About The Position Physical testing of production samples Daily calibration of standard lab instruments Recording and interpreting test results Verifying sufficient inventory of testing supplies Maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory environment Maintains samples of tested product in order to confirm test results when necessary Performs light maintenance and calibration on all ADM laboratory equipment. Maintains on-going records of the results of all testing procedures and inputs such data into computer on a daily basis Maintains adequate supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order such supplies Continually compares test results with standards as required to insure that all flour is within specification Duties and Responsibilities Maintains a neat and clean working area at all times, washing equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed. Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude. Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements Maintains awareness and adheres to all CFIA, GMPs and employer standards and guidelines Handles various chemicals in assorted containers in the manner outlined in the manufacturer’s chemical Material Safety Data Sheet Recommends solutions to correct deficiencies or improve work and operational practices Participates actively in training Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures All other duties required Required Skills and Qualifications Demonstrated troubleshooting skills Excellent communication skills Demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills in performing all job functions with plant peers, management, customers, suppliers and laboratory personnel Must be a motivated individual able to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment Must have the ability to multi-task Must be familiar and comfortable with the use of computer spreadsheets and data management Education or Work Experience 6 Months of Experience with lab procedures and equipment Technical degree in a science related field Additional Information Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements Participates actively in training Exhibit regular and prompt attendance Prolonged periods of standing and sitting Benefits And Perks Enriching the quality of life for the world begins by taking care of our colleagues.
