Job summary

VP of Sales & Marketing (Founding) — Aeon App Aeonian Technology | Remote (U.S.-based), extensive travel required | Full-Time ABOUT AEONIAN TECHNOLOGY Aeonian Technology is the startup behind the Aeon App — a purpose-built suite of transportation management software designed to modernize how organizations move people. Rather than a single product, Aeon App is being developed as a family of six vertical-specific solutions: school & education transportation, taxi/rideshare, limo & bus charter, airport transfer, paratransit, and EMS/medical transport. We've built and are now rolling out the first of these: Aeon App for Schools, a platform that gives school districts, private schools, and universities a modern way to plan, dispatch, and manage their student transportation operations. It's live, it's in the field, and it's ready for a go-to-market leader to take it to scale — before we turn to the next five verticals. THE OPPORTUNITY This is a founding, function-defining role reporting directly to the Founder & CEO of Aeonian Technology. We're hiring the person who will build Sales & Marketing at Aeonian Technology from the ground up — not join an existing team, but create it. You'll set the go-to-market strategy, build the pipeline, close the early customers, and lay down the playbook, hiring, and infrastructure that Sales & Marketing runs on as we grow. Your first mandate is the school transportation market: getting Aeon App in front of the people who make student mobility decisions — school bus administrators, transportation directors, school board superintendents, state departments of education, and the equivalent decision-makers at private schools and universities — and turning those conversations into signed customers. As Aeon App expands into rideshare, charter, airport transfer, paratransit, and EMS, you'll help shape and lead go-to-market for each. This role is built for someone who already has relationships in, or deep familiarity with, the school transportation and pupil transportation ecosystem — someone who doesn't need an introduction to how these buying decisions get made, who influences them, and how long the cycle really takes. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Own Sales & Marketing end to end: strategy, pipeline, messaging, brand, and execution — reporting directly to the Founder & CEO of Aeonian Technology. • Sell directly to school transportation decision-makers: transportation directors, school bus administrators, superintendents, business officials, state departments of education, and procurement contacts at public school districts, private schools, and universities. • Build and manage the full sales pipeline — prospecting, demos, proposals, procurement/RFP processes, and closing — for a software sale into public-sector and education budgets. • Develop the go-to-market playbook for Aeon App: positioning, pricing strategy input, competitive differentiation, and sales collateral. • Build out marketing from scratch — brand presence, content, trade show and conference strategy (e.g., NAPT, STN Expo, state pupil transportation associations), digital marketing, and demand generation. • Represent Aeonian Technology at industry conferences, association meetings, and school board/district events. • Establish repeatable sales processes and the early CRM/marketing infrastructure the function will run on. • Feed market and customer insight back into product — you're often the first person hearing what districts actually need. • Expand the playbook across verticals: as additional Aeon App products (rideshare, charter, airport transfer, paratransit, EMS) come online, help define and lead go-to-market strategy for each. • Recruit, hire, and eventually lead the Sales & Marketing team as the function scales beyond a team of one. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Proven sales and/or marketing experience selling software or technology solutions into the transportation space — student transportation/pupil transportation strongly preferred. • Existing relationships with, or demonstrated ability to access, school transportation decision-makers: transportation directors, school bus administrators, superintendents, business officials, and/or state departments of education. • A track record of building something from zero — a territory, a book of business, or ideally a sales/marketing function itself — not just executing inside an established machine. • Comfort and credibility selling into public-sector and education procurement environments, including RFP processes, budget cycles, and multi-stakeholder decision-making. • Strong understanding of school bus and student transportation operations — routing, dispatch, compliance, safety, and the day-to-day pain points transportation directors deal with. • Startup mindset: self-directed, resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to do the unglamorous work of building a function from scratch alongside the strategic work of leading it. • Willingness and ability to travel extensively for in-person meetings, site visits, conferences, and industry events across the U.S. and Canada. • Excellent communication and presentation skills — you'll be the face of Aeon App to prospects, partners, and the industry. NICE TO HAVE • Prior experience selling into rideshare/taxi, charter/limo/bus, airport transfer, paratransit, or EMS/medical transport — given Aeon App's roadmap into these verticals. • Existing relationships with state departments of education, pupil transportation associations (e.g., NAPT, NASDPTS), or university transportation/parking & transportation services departments. • Experience at an early-stage SaaS startup, particularly in a founding go-to-market or "employee #1 in Sales" capacity. • Familiarity with fleet management, routing/dispatch, or transportation compliance software. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Compensation includes a competitive base salary, commission/OTE tied to sales performance, and meaningful equity in Aeonian Technology — reflecting the ground-floor, founding nature of this role. Exact package is commensurate with experience and will be discussed directly with candidates. HOW TO APPLY If you know this market, know these buyers, and want to build and lead a Sales & Marketing function from day one — we want to hear from you. Please send your resume and a short note on your experience selling into student/pupil transportation (or the broader transportation software space) to [insert application email/link]. Aeonian Technology is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
