About

Aescia builds a continuous-care platform for the weeks between a high-acuity discharge and the next clinical appointment. Two products, one pathway engine. Aescia for Hospitals is an investigational software-as-a-medical-device for structured post-discharge monitoring, intended Class IIa under TGA Rule 3.4. A regulatory submission has not yet been lodged. The product is in clinical evaluation through SAFE-Discharge, a 550-patient prospective single-centre trial at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital cardiothoracic surgical unit in Sydney (ACTRN12625001425482), under principal investigator Dr Kei Woldendorp of The Baird Institute. Aescia for Clinics is a workflow and patient-preparation platform for specialty clinics. It is not a medical device. It delivers clinician-authored prep pathways, multichannel reminders, GLP-1 peri-procedural overlays, recall tracking, and structured exports back to the chart. Aescia is incorporated as Aescia Pty Ltd (AU) and 9550-0708 Québec inc (CA), with operations in Sydney and Montréal. The company is a District 3 portfolio company at Concordia University, participates in the CHEO Research Institute's Commercialization Stream in Ottawa with a paediatric post-discharge pathway as the working focus, and is enrolled in the Medical Technology Association of Australia's MedTech Compass programme. Founded 2025 by James Kurrle MD (CEO) and Vasken Dermardiros PhD (CTO).
