The Opportunity Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, the Environmental Services Assistant performs routine repairs and minor maintenance while delivering excellent customer service to residents. What You Will Do * Perform routine repairs and minor maintenance on building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment * Complete painting, minor carpentry, and exterior grounds maintenance (excluding contracted services) * Conduct regular inspections of the premises to ensure maintenance and safety standards are met; report findings to the supervisor * Follow established facility policies and procedures, including safety protocols and safe work practices * Fulfill housekeeping and maintenance duties as required while performing handyman responsibilities * Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adult residents * Uphold and promote the organization’s values, including ethics, integrity, and professionalism, as outlined in the Code of Conduct * Perform other duties as assigned What You Bring * Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English * Strong ability to work independently and self-manage tasks * Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting and moving heavy objects * Experience with minor repairs to facilities and equipment * Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating, water, gas, mechanical systems, plastering, and painting * Ability to manage and track budgets, including recording work completed and associated costs * Knowledge of health and safety practices * Must provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, or be willing to obtain one About AgeCare For over 25 years, AgeCare has been dedicated to creating vibrant and supportive communities, providing high-quality care and fostering meaningful connections.
