About The Company White Raven Brands is a dynamic and innovative organization dedicated to providing high-quality lighting solutions and related services. With a focus on delivering exceptional value to professional installers, contractors, businesses, and community organizations, we specialize in exterior and decorative lighting programs that enhance aesthetic appeal and functionality. Our expertise is rooted in hands-on installation work, ensuring that we understand the practical needs and challenges faced in the field. This practical perspective allows us to develop reliable products, offer thoughtful guidance, and provide responsive support to our clients. As part of the White Raven Brands family, we work closely with our design and installation division, FestiLight. This collaboration enriches our understanding of product development, e-commerce, wholesale distribution, installation processes, and customer service. Our core values revolve around innovation, integrity, professionalism, quality, people, and an entrepreneurial spirit. We are committed to building better systems and fostering a work environment where employees care about both the customer experience and the quality of their work. Our goal is to grow sustainably while maintaining a focus on excellence and customer satisfaction. About The Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating qualified sales opportunities by conducting research, engaging with prospective clients, and maintaining accurate records within our CRM system. Your primary focus will be to generate meaningful conversations with potential customers, qualify leads, and support the sales process to ensure a steady flow of opportunities that contribute to our revenue growth. This position is not a high-volume appointment-setting role nor a senior closing position. Instead, it is designed for someone who excels in written communication, follows through diligently, enjoys learning technical products, and can build trust with busy business owners and operators. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager and collaborate with teams across sales, marketing, operations, customer service, and technical support. Your initial focus will include professional lighting installers, adjacent trades, and strategic opportunities involving partners, franchises, municipal entities, and commercial clients. Qualifications Excellent written communication skills that are concise, professional, and personable. Confident and respectful communication over the phone and via video calls with entrepreneurs, project managers, and other stakeholders. Proven ability to follow through on conversations, turning discussions into actionable next steps. Strong discipline in CRM management, ensuring accurate notes, stages, and activity tracking. Sound research skills and commercial judgment to identify genuine fit signals and opportunities. Curiosity and an eagerness to learn technical products and installation realities. A consultative approach, asking insightful questions before recommending solutions. High initiative, good judgment, and the ability to work independently within evolving priorities. Experience working in a growing, seasonal environment is advantageous but not mandatory. Evidence of clear communication, quick learning, and reliable execution outweighs years of experience. Responsibilities Research target companies and identify key contacts, fit signals, and business context for outreach. Develop personalized, thoughtful outreach messages aligned with campaign strategies. Respond promptly to inquiries, referrals, bookings, quote requests, and routine questions from prospects. Conduct or support qualification calls to understand the customer’s business model, decision process, and timing. Create concise account briefs to facilitate effective planning calls with clients. Send timely follow-up summaries with recommendations, relevant resources, and next steps. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records in Pipedrive, including stages, notes, and activities. Re-engage existing or lapsed accounts with targeted communication strategies. Support research and follow-up efforts related to franchise, multi-location, municipal, and tradeshow opportunities. Develop a solid understanding of our products and programs to confidently answer routine questions and involve technical experts when needed. Participate in weekly revenue reviews, providing insights and suggestions for process improvements. Benefits We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional and personal growth. This includes competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and commission opportunities. Our employment model is full-time and salaried, with a hybrid work environment based in British Columbia. Employees have the flexibility to work remotely with the option to attend our Richmond-area office as needed. We foster a collaborative and inclusive culture that values innovation, continuous learning, and work-life balance. Additional perks include ongoing training, professional development opportunities, and a supportive team environment focused on your success and growth within the company. Equal Opportunity White Raven Brands is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. We believe that diverse perspectives and backgrounds foster innovation and strengthen our organization. We encourage qualified candidates from all backgrounds to apply and join our team in contributing to our mission and growth.
