Our hydraulics client is seeking an Engineering Manager, Control Systems to lead and develop a Controls Engineering team focused on programming, commissioning, and supporting advanced mobile and industrial control systems. This role combines technical expertise with people leadership in a hands-on engineering environment. A typical day: Lead the Controls department through project planning, design, and execution. Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and co-op students. Collaborate with Product Management on projects and business development initiatives. Design and develop software for mobile and industrial control systems. Analyze, code, test, maintain, and document PLC and control system programs. Support mechanical design teams with controls engineering expertise. Integrate sensors, transducers, and electronic control systems into equipment Work directly with clients, vendors, and suppliers on project requirements, troubleshooting, and new technologies. Successful candidates will have: 5+ years of experience in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering. 5+ years of engineering management experience. Experience with CODESYS, J1939, CANOpen, DeviceNet, Profinet, PROFIBUS, and similar platforms. Knowledge of software development lifecycles and code revision practices. Strong hands-on technical ability with mechanical aptitude. Experience with AC/DC electrical systems, schematics, and control methods. Experience with fluid dynamics, hydraulic systems, and system design. Familiarity with mobile equipment or OEM environments; diesel-powered systems considered an asset.
