This senior engineering role is responsible for providing piping design and mechanical engineering support for operations, maintenance, and sustaining capital projects. Working closely with operations, maintenance, asset integrity, and project teams, you will help ensure the safety, reliability, and long-term performance of critical piping systems while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and engineering excellence. Total rewards: A competitive hourly pay rate based on experience (typically $90-115/hr for similar positions), flexibility for the right candidate Contribute to the reliability and integrity of critical operating assets Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams Support sustaining capital and operational improvement initiatives Gain exposure to large-scale energy and industrial facilities Participate in technical problem solving and root cause investigations Opportunity for ongoing professional growth and development Calgary-based position with occasional site travel requirements Responsibilities: Deliver piping design support for operational, maintenance, and capital projects Develop construction work packages and engineering documentation Review piping layouts, isometrics, stress analyses, supports, valves, and fittings Evaluate and approve piping system modifications through engineering change processes Provide technical support for procurement, contracting, and vendor evaluations Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and integrity requirements Conduct site inspections and support fitness-for-service assessments Participate in root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives Requirements: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or a related engineering discipline Possess 8+ years of piping engineering experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, refining, or energy sectors Maintain P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration in Alberta Demonstrate strong knowledge of ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, CSA Z662, and related piping codes Utilize piping stress analysis software such as CAESAR II, AutoPipe, or equivalent Apply experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, Navisworks, or similar engineering tools Understand ABSA requirements, pressure equipment regulations, and integrity management practices Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
