Click here! Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you will be part of the Engineering Department – Underground Operations. You will be responsible for generating optimized long-term mining plans for the Detour Underground Operation. You will liaise between the Corporate Study Technical team and Detour Technical and Mine Operations departments regarding all production-related activities. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture & Code of conduct, maintaining a high Health & Safety standard, all in respect of the environment, the work procedures in place & the industry’s good practices. Perform scenario analysis to determine an optimized mining strategy, including review mining methods and LOM infrastructure; Development Life of Mine (LOM) mining plans and collaborate with the finance department to generate reliable cost forecasting; Prepare summary presentations of evaluations to gain stakeholder support and communicate LOM strategy; Support the mining aspects of the MRMR process; Support the Corporate Study team by participating in mining reviews as the Mine Operations representative and providing feedback from an operational context; Compare annual performance trends against study benchmarks and evaluate impacts of variance on physicals; Promote innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in safety and productivity; Other tasks as required by the Engineering Superintendent to support. What You Need To Succeed Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, or equivalent; 10+ years of experience in underground mining with at least 5 years’ experience in mine design; Eligibility for Professional Engineering designation in the Province of Ontario; Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint; Knowledge of Deswik.CAD and Deswik.IS required; Must be able to work independently and within a team structure; Ability to effectively prioritize job duties and work in a fast-paced environment; Experience working in a multicultural environment; Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic and a positive attitude; Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Your Work Schedule Schedule: 40 hours per week, 4-3 or 5-2 schedule either remotely, at one of our Regional Offices or at our Upper Beaver Gold Project in Dobie, ON. Periodic site visits are required.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent, at least 10 years of underground mining experience including five years in mine design, and eligibility for professional engineering designation in Ontario. Candidates should know Deswik.CAD, Deswik.IS, and Microsoft Office, and demonstrate strong communication, prioritization, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
